Prayer for the deceased people and revival from Great East Japan Earthquake at 2pm on 23rd October

1023.jpgThe ceremonial prayer for the victims of Great East Japan Earthquake, which occurred on 11th March 2011, will take place from 2pm 23rd October at the Lower Worship Hall.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and Todaiji Temple at Nara had held the ceremony of the prayer that the deceased people could rest in peace and any damages will be recovered soon. We organize this prayer periodically and alternately either in Kamakura or Nara. This year, we are going to hold this at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.

Shinto priests of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and Buddhist priests of Todaiji Temple conduct the ritual to pray for consolation from Great East Japan Earthquake together. After the ritual, “Halau o Kekuhi”, which is one of traditional Hula schools of Hawaii dedicates their performance of Hula as the prayer.

Date: 2pm on 23rd October

Place: the Lower Worship Hall
