Hitaki-sai on 8th November at Maruyama Inari Shrine

2013Hitaki-sai.jpgOn 8th November, Hitaki-sai, a ritual to express our gratitude for the bountiful harvest and to pray for good health of worshippers, is going to be conducted at Maruyama Inari Shrine in the precinct.

A traditional dance, called Kamakura-kagura, will be also dedicated after the ritual. It has been handed down by Shinto priests of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu since the Kamakura era (1185-1333), and is designated as an intangible cultural asset of Kamakura city.
