The memorial service in remembrance of the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake was held in Tsurugaoka Hachimangu

The memorial service for victims of Great East Japan Earthquake was held at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu on 11th March.

About 3,000 people participated in this ritual, also they offered one minute’s silent prayer with the priests of Shinto, Buddhism and Christianity and the congregation.
Shrine maidens of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu dedicated the sacred dance called Urayasu-no-mai as prayer for the peace of the ocean and country.

We hope this service will encourage all affected people by this great disaster, and the reconstruction will be achieved sooner.
