Hula from Kauai island of Hawaii was dedicated

Hula, Hawaiian traditional dance, was dedicated at the Lower Worship Hall of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu on 17th May.

Kumu Hula (Hula teacher) Kehaulani Kekua and her students came from Kauai Island and visited Tsurugaoka Hachimangu to offer a traditional and sacred dance in front of kami of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.

Originally, Hula was the dance to be dedicated to deities and ancestral spirits in Hawaii. Her reverence to Japanese Kami offered with the dance was received with deep impression by Japanese audiences.
