Rituals and Events of Bonbori Festival in 7-9th Aug 2015

The Bonbori Festival 2015 is composed of the following rituals and events from 7th to 9th of August.

7th (Fri)
15:00 Nagoshi-sai (The ritual for Summer Ends)
10:00 ~ 15:00 Tea Services (served by Sohen school)
17:00 Tanka Poem Competition (Kamakura Tanka Association)
17:00 Brass Band Concert (Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force brass band)
19:00 Performance of Japanese Dance (Fujima Sumire school)

8th (Sat)
17:00 Risshu-sai (The ritual for Autumn Begins)
19:00 Performance of Japanese Dance (Nishikawa Suisen school)
Exhibition of Japanese Flower Arrangements

9th (Sun)
10:00 Sanetomo-sai (The ritual for Sanetomo, the 3rd Kamakura shogun).
10:00 ~ 15:00 Tea Services (Served by Omote Senke and Ura Senke)
15:00 Performance of Primitive Wind Instruments (Unryu and KNOB)
19:00 Japanese Harp Concert by Hiroe Morikawa
Exhibition of Japanese Flower Arrangements

Display of Bonbori (paper lanterns) 7th – 9th August.
* Bonboris will be put away while raining to keep them in good condition.
