Firefly Festival was held

Hotaru-hojo-sai (Firefly Festival) was held at 7pm on 11th June.

After the ritual in Worship Hall, priests and shrine maidens, children stepped to the pond, and then the fireflies are released by them. The sight of fireflies flying around clear water in the twilight shade was so striking.

This year, 5 children from the embassy of British, India, Canada, and Russia participated and released fireflies with 5 Japanese children.

Also, ambassadors, diplomats from 7 embassies, and international students attended to the festival for the international cultural exchange. They were attracted by the beauty of the fireflies while walking around the pond.
