Oharae (Major Purification) was held

On 30th June, oharae (Major Purification) was held at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.

More than 2,300 people participated in the ritual. They recited purification words together with Shinto priests to remove impurities and sins which befell to themselves during the last half a year, and prayed for good health for the next half a year. At the end of the ritual, led by the priests, they passed through the big thatched ring called “Chinowa” for purification.
