Mikagura was dedicated

On 16th December, Mikagura, sacred dance ritual, was dedicated by shinto priests in the North area of Maiden.

His Excellency Dr. Hubert HEISS, an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria in Japan, His Excellency Mr. Francisco XAVIER ESTEVES, an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Portugal in Japan, and other embassy staffs, overseas students attended the ritual.

Under the light of bonefire and moonlight, Miyabito-no-mai and Nincho-no-mai are dedicated by Shrine maidens and Shinto priests.

In a solemn atmosphere, they listened attentively to gagaku music and experienced the traditional performance which was first dedicated in Tsurugaoka Hachiamangu about 800 years ago.
