Firefly Festival was held

Hotaru-hojo-sai (Firefly Festival) was held at 7pm on 10th June at Lower Worship Hall.

After the ritual, priests, shrine maidens, and children approached to the pond, and then the fireflies were released by them. The sight of fireflies flying around clear water in the twilight shade was so striking.

This year, 6 children from the embassy of British, India, Canada and Denmark participated and released fireflies with 5 Japanese children.

Also ambassadors, officials from 15 embassies, and international students attended the festival for the cultural exchange. They were attracted by the beauty of the fireflies while walking around the pond.
