Prayer for comforting and encouraging victims of Great East Japan Earthquake in Fukushima

2017fukushima1-.JPG Tsurugaoka Hachimangu held a memorial ritual to pray for victims of Great East Japan Earthquake occurred on 11 March 2011 in collaboration with Todaiji temple in Nara at Koriyama in Fukushima Prefecture on 22 October.

In the ritual, priests of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and monks of Todaiji temple prayed together for soon recovery from distraction and the aftermath of tsunami and accidents at the nuclear power plants in Fukushima. Also, eight shrine maidens dedicated urayasu-no-mai,a Shinto sacred dance praying for peace and  quiet in the nation.

2017fukushima2.JPGTsurugaoka Hachimangu and the worshippers association Enju no Kai have been supporting people affected by the earthquake in Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate, in the northeast Japan.
