Firefly Festival was held

Hotaru-hojo-sai (Firefly Festival) was held at 7pm on 9th June at Lower Worship Hall.

After the ritual, priests, shrine maidens, and children approached to the pond, and then the fireflies were released by them. The sight of fireflies flying around clear water in the twilight shade was so striking.

This year, 6 girls from Australia, Columbia, Sweden, Switzerland, and UK participated in the Festival and released fireflies with 5 Japanese children.

Ambassadors of Australia, Greek, Italy, and Tunisia offered a tamagushi in the ceremony as the representative of attendees.

Also officials from 17 embassies, and international students attended the festival and enjoyed walking around the pond.
