The Minister of Secretariat of the Interior (SEGOB) in Mexico, Her Excellency Olga Sanchéz, made an official visit.

The Minister of Secretariat of the interior (SEGOB) in Mexico, Her Excellency Olga Sanchéz and her husband visited Tsurugaoka Hachimangu on 24th October.

Firstly, they attended a Shinto ritual in the Main Shrine, and the Minister offered a tamagushi, an offering to the kami, as the representative of attendees.

Next, a Shinto priest guided them around the shrine precinct, explaining about the history and facilities of the shrine. They enjoyed seeing the historical architecture including the Lower Worship Hall.

Then, they went to the Kamakura Bunkakan Tsurugaoka Museum to see the seasonal exhibition, in which Shinto, this shrine and Japanese medieval history were introduced. They were interested in collections such as a sword and a Japanese drum in the museum so much.

Finally, the Japanese green tea and sweets were served at the guest house. They enjoyed a conversation about Kamakura and Japanese culture, with a senior priest.
